What Greene County Court Records Show

Date of birth may narrow a party search but does not display in public case details. MyCase also warns that balances may not reflect the newest payment or interest. When payment status matters, verify the court record with the Greene County Clerk of Courts.
Public Access for Greene County Court Records
Indiana court records are governed by the Indiana Rules on Access to Court Records and the state public-records law. Access to Court Records Rule 4 states the general access rule for court records. Rule 5 lists records excluded from public access. Indiana Code 5-14-3, the Access to Public Records Act, governs public agency records unless an exception applies.

Restricted Greene County Court Records
Not every Greene County court record is public online or public at the counter. Juvenile, CHINS, delinquency, status, termination, and adoption records are generally restricted under Indiana Code 31-39 and the court access rules. Mental-health records are listed as not public online or in person. Protection-order cases are not found on MyCase because protected-party identifying information is excluded from online public access.
Sealed and expunged court records also do not appear as ordinary public cases. Indiana Code 35-38-9 controls many arrest and conviction sealing issues. The filing goes through the court rather than a simple counter request. If relief is granted, the court record may be removed from public access while still remaining available to courts or criminal justice agencies for authorized purposes.
